Interview
Two phone calls, followed by a in-person interview. Pretty straightforward.
Question were mostly interviewees were asking basic electrical and mechanical concepts. I was asked to draw few block diagram in white board which was very helpful to explain the concepts.

Q: They described one of their projects and ask about how system should work in that project to maximize the stability.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Greensmith Energy (Herndon, VA) in Feb 2020
Interview
Weird, noncommital, and frustrating.
The interview process was so weird. I was contacted by a staffing agency and things seemed to go smoothly at first. I went through a series of interviews where went over my experience and skills. Everyone seemed to like me, the opportunity looked decent.
Soon after, I was ghosted by the staffing agency. I was told that my position was on hold because of the pandemic. Understandable.
After a couple of weeks, I get an email saying the position is off hold and they would love to reconsider me and we went into salary negotiations.
After agreeing to a number again the same thing, ghosted. I was expecting a written offer after the conversation and was told to provide references which I did. None of my references were contacted.
Fast forward to a month earlier, the hiring manager sent me his cell phone number, saying he would love to have a conversation with me. I texted him, no reply.
He got back to me on LinkedIn saying he was sorry and it was a busy day. I said please let me know the time that is suitable for you. Nothing.
At this point, I would recommend staying away from Greensmith Energy. Whatever they are doing it seems there is a lot of turmoil within the organization and they cannot get their openings straight.

Question 1
I was asked about the my experience with lithium-ion cells and how it would translate into energy storage and grid storage
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Greensmith Energy (Herndon, VA) in Jan 2019
Interview
Took a few weeks, got contacted by someone there, then interviewed in person. Was a large panel which asked me questions.
I did not enjoy my experience.
I did not enjoy the panel style interviews were they asked back to back questions constantly. It felt like a quiz which was not representative of an actual working environment.
I thought several of them were pretty pretentious. 2 were friendly and I liked them. The others were not.
The interview closed out with a coding round in which I was asked to simulate an energy phenomena in python.
I did not fully understand the energy phenomena so I struggled. The interviewers made very little effort to help. I made it clear I was unfamiliar with the technology but they didn't seem to care. I did not know what they were looking for.
Got an email later, not even a call (which was weird considering I showed up in person, even super large companies I've interviewed for (and performed much more poorly during interview) called me back. Not even a thank you in the email. Disrespectful.
I got no offer and I'm glad I didn't.
