I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Groupon (Chicago, IL) in Nov 2010
Interview
Applied online, got an email back very quickly, followed by the phone interview. Next day got a call back to schedule an in person interview. I had to wait until my future supervisor comes back from vacation about two weeks.
On the day of the interview, I got there early, drew an autoportrait in a little moleskin notepad(something that all of their candidates have to do), my first interviewer was available early, so we started ahead of schedule. I had about 30 minutes to talk to him and most of this time we talked about seemingly random things - programming languages, video games and so on. Next interviewer gave me about as much time and although conversation revolved a bit more around the actual job, it still wasn't based on standard interview questions and seemed to have been more of a conversation than Q&A session.
Next day I got a call with the offer.
