Interview questions [1]
Question 1
tell a time you had a challenging conversation with a colleague. what did you learn, what did you do, what was the outcome?
I applied online. I interviewed at Growing Up Green Charter School in Oct 2023
Interview
Let’s start with the positives… the interview process was fairly quick. I had a phone interview just a few days after submitting my resume, then a demo lesson not too long after. Everyone I met was very friendly. Now onto the negatives… They were very vague about what they were looking for and exactly what I should be demo’ing. They were vague about the curriculum and the student’s activities, I had to ask a lot of follow ups before the demo. They also asked me very vague questions. Turns out they were looking for someone to not only teach ENL but math and other subjects that I wasn’t skilled in to teach (making me feel like I wasted my time creating a demo lesson and going out there). I also noticed that there weren’t too many people of color on the staff and management, and not too many older people. Overall seems like a very disorganized place.

Question 1
A lot vague scenario questions. How would you teach math to a low level English speaker?
Interview process was exhausting having to teach a demo and then going to an interview afterwards. They also don't call you back to let you know you did not get the job.
