      Field Engineer Interview

      21 Jan 2012
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Oklahoma City, OK
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Halliburton (Oklahoma City, OK) in Dec 2011

      Interview

The initial interview took place at a career fair. The representatives were very friendly and open to talk about the opportunities with their company. During the interview, the HR Representative was very friendly, honest and told me that this job is very demanding and usually work is done in harsh conditions and long hours. This interview lasted about 30-45 mins. All of the questions were behavioral. Afterwards, I received an email stating that I was selected to advance to the second round of the interview process. A questionnaire had to be filled out prior to proceeding to the next step. Typical questions were as follow: What are your top 3 Product Service Lines (PSLs)? What are your top 3 geographical locations desired? There were more questions but they are not difficult. Second Interview - Day 1 (ASK QUESTIONS) My flight OKC was taken care of by Halliburton. This process was two days. As soon as your Halliburton Representative pick you up the interview process has begun. I sat through a series of presentations about the company and wireline and perforating (open and cased hole logging). They are very informing and interesting presentations. I had a great representative, he was very knowledgeable and able to breakdown the process. If your not familiar with this type of work, it will seem like a lot of information is thrown at you at once. They emphasis that the job is VERY DEMANDING. Afterwards, we all went out to dinner courtesy of yours truly (Halliburton). You are still being interviewed during this stage. Day 2 (ASK QUESTIONS) Woke up early and had two more presentations to go over (Benefits and Compensation). After, we went out to the Shop where all of the tools and trucks are stored. This will be your introduction to the tools and what they actually do at the shop. We went to lunch with some of the Field Professionals and had the chance to ask them about their experiences. Very friendly people and honest about their experiences. We then returned to the shop where we had one on one interviews. After the last interview, the trip is over and time to return home.

      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Halliburton in June 2025

      Interview

After passing the admin screening, I attended the psychometric/aptitude test at UPN “Veteran” Yogyakarta. The test was conducted entirely online on our own devices; the venue had weak mobile signal and there was no option to take the test on paper, so a lot of time was lost just connecting and loading questions. Format & content: Mostly English verbal reasoning, plus basic math and simple mechanical/physics items (e.g., “which gear turns to the right”). One section was a long ordering/linear arrangement (positional reasoning) passage followed by five MCQs, time management was critical bcs 1 para for 5 MCQs.
