I applied online. I interviewed at Harper (CA) in Feb 2026
Interview
Harper seems to be a wonderful company. The leadership is active on social media, shouting about their values and how passionate they are about what they are doing. They continue to broadcast that they’re hiring and how they want to change the landscape of insurance. The interviews start off with a call with their recruiting team. The recruiter was great, knowledgeable and loved the company. He warned that the company knew what they were looking for, and moved fast. If that goes well, your profile is submitted to the chief of staff so that you can get a meeting with the hiring manager. In my case the CEO. The call was scheduled and I put hours into making a presentation with suggestions for efficiency. The CEO ghosted me, never showed up or made contact. I sent an email to the Chief of Staff to see if wires got crossed, no response. I reached back out to the recruiting team and received an apology for the CEO not attending the interview, and was told that there would be. Rescheduled interview. Unfortunately, that also never happened. I’ve exchanged emails with the recruiters for months, and continue to get told “I’m waiting for new availability”. Meanwhile, I’m connected to the CEO, COO and Chief of Staff on LinkedIn and can see them celebrating all of the new hires that they make. Adding insult to injury, about a month into the promise of rescheduling, the recruiter finds me on LinkedIn and says “I have a role at this company you’d be perfect for”. Very sad way to go through recruiting as a new company, priding yourselves on building relationships. I had been following the company for sometime before applying. Hope they learn how to treat people like they matter. Sounds like a big red flag in regards to their culture.

Interview
Got a automated email asking to do a quick case study bypassing even the introduction interview and was ghosted after submitting my response. The questions they asked also indicated they have very little marketing expertise.
