Recruiter reached out via LinkedIn, confirmed salary was appropriate during initial phone screen. Completed multiple rounds of interviews, with positive feedback following each one. Interviews were standard - manager, peers, CEO, take home assessment. There were communication issues and errors on their end throughout the process. I had a phone call with the recruiter at the end of the process where I received more positive feedback and re-confirmed the salary range. A few days later they informed me they weren’t making me an offer due to lack of industry experience. I have very similar industry experience, and was assured it was transferrable. They brought me through the entire process and then said I didn’t exactly have the experience they were looking for after a month of interviewing me. It felt very dishonest. There’s nothing special about Herald, I was interested in the salary range we agreed upon. If you’re looking for a job at a startup, there are higher quality ones out there I wouldn’t suggest spending your time interviewing at Herald.
