Interview
It takes about 3 months to start training but you have to go in for a typing test and critcall. You discuss your results with the admin manager who will give you an interview if you pass. Then she advises you that you should hear back within a certain time frame if you got the position. The rest is taking a psych exam, polygraph, drug test etc.. longgggggggggg process

I applied online. The process took 5 months. I interviewed at Houston Police Department (Houston, TX) in Oct 2019
Interview
Applied in mid-August got a call in late September to set up in person interview. Was given only one name as my interviewer. Interview was held early October. When I arrived to the station I had to wait for the person to prepare along with two other workers. I thought they were at least reviewing my resume but they didn't. The moment I sat down they seemed completely clueless as to who they were interviewing. They asked me the standard questions that had nothing to do with my background, so why was I invited in? Since they were clueless they asked the standard 'tell me about yourself'. It was awkward because they didn't know how to navigate the interview and seemed lost as to what to ask. I tried to make a case for myself using my background and education. I thought my background in accounting support was a reason I got called but they seemed disinterested. If my background did not align with the position, I do not understand why time was taken out of my day to go there. It's cool if I am not what they were looking for but they could have seen my application beforehand to know what experience I had. Additionally, I thought one of the interviewer's was rude because when I tried to ask for more details about the job he dismissed them and did not gave me more detail about it. I supposed the best qualifications for working there is a degree from the University of Phoenix in ecommerce or something.
