      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Hughes Systique (Bengaluru) in Apr 2023

      Interview

Interview Mode: Virtual Worst Hiring Process. Have taken 3 technical interviews (each 1+ hour) and got no response. I tried to check with HR and got one (auto) reply like they are on leave. So, I did followup for one week then they said you are not selected, we are proceeding with other candidate who are more aligned with our requirement. When you know that other candidate is having more relevant exp, then don't give any false hope and waste time of both sides. Topics asked: Core Java, OOP, Spring Core, Spring Boot, SQL queries, Coding Question (Same pattern followed in all 3 interviews, but 3rd interview was bit managerial type round)

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1. Explain Collection framework in Java? 2. Java 8 Features 3. Sorting array elements ( Based on Comparator & Comparable) 4. OOP Concepts 5. Array List vs Linked List 6. Sort map by value 7. Internal Working of HashMap 8. Serialization 9. map() vs flatmap() 10. Add elements of List of List using Steam API 11. IOC & Depenedncy Injection 12. What is profiles and actuators in Spring Boot? 13. @Controller vs @RestController 14. @Bean vs @Component 15. Explain Auto configuration and Dependency management feature in Spring Boot 16. Get nth highest salary from employee table

Dear Anonymous, Thank you for sharing your review with us. It is a standard practice across organisations and industries to interview more than one candidate for a given open vacancy. It is only after evaluation process has concluded, that a final decision regarding hiring the best fit is taken. We at HSC, respect the time our candidates as well as our evaluation team invests in the process, so we are certain that our talent acquisition team must have tried their level best after assessing your experience and qualifications along with the assessment shared by interviewers, to find a more fitting opportunity for you in other relevant project(s), but unfortunately there might not be any open position matching your skill set. Having said that we can understand your concern and empathize with you for the same. We take this opportunity to thank you for your time and wish you the very best in your future endeavours.

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Hughes Systique (Bengaluru) in July 2025

      Interview

Extremely bad interview experience. Interviewer joined and asked for introduction, then started asking random questions from JIT, JVM etc. Questions were - What is JIT? What is PC Register? What is cohesion? What is Is-a and Has-a relationship? How classes from packages outside Main class will be initiated? One SQL question. Ended the interview within 12 minutes! The thing is there are way too many important topics from core java, spring boot, problem solving etc. but interviewer chose to ask these weird theoretical questions from JVM. Also an interview should feel like discussion, but in my case interviewer just randomly fired all questions and moved on,

Dear Anonymous, We would like to start by thanking you for your time, efforts and also for expressing your interest in joining HSC. Coming to your comments about the nature of the interview, we would like you to know and understand that the basic intention of an interview is to understand the knowledge level of the candidate on the domain they are going to be working in. The questions you were asked could be important to the project. While noting that, we would also like to say that the expected pattern is different for different candidates and individuals. In your case, if the interviewee managed to gauge your knowledge level and interest in 12 minutes, then they were able to respect your valuable time and theirs also. But in case you were expecting the interviewer to discuss the answers to the questions asked, then please understand that it is not a standard practice or format of the interview which is followed in any sector or industry. If you wanted feedback for the interview, you could have and still can come back to our HR team for more information. At HSC, the briefing to our interviewees and the guidelines shared with them specifically asks them to make the candidate feel comfortable. And all our interviewers strictly adhere to same. Nevertheless, we wish you the best on your future endeavours and once again, thank you for your time.
