Phone Interview with Human Resources, it was supposed to be a formal interview but they mentioned the role had been filled and instead it was a screening interview to see if I would be a good fit for other roles

I was referred by a former employee to apply for this position. He forwarded my resume to the HR department and they contacted me a couple days later. I had to send my unofficial transcripts in for them to see and then after a couple days, they contacted me for a phone interview. After two weeks, I had a phone interview with HR. Didn't make it to the next round, but going to discuss the interview I did with them to see where I went wrong and why I wasn't a sufficient fit.
