      Front Desk Agent Interview

      17 Nov 2015
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Hyatt

      Interview

Overall, it was okay. The interviewer was very professional. Some would say overly so. She was little cold and that made me extremely nervous. That is an individual thing, though, not Hyatt specific. By the end of the interview, they told me they wanted me to meet with the GM and would call me "by the end of next week". I never got a call and I had a feeling they were lying straight to my face while it was happening. I just don't understand why they would give me a specific time table, with a specific person just to lie and never call back? I e-mailed the interviewer a few days later and asked about the meeting and I got no reply. It has been 20 days since the interview. It is bothersome that employers will treat people looking for jobs this way. It's one thing to ghost an applicant and never reply back in general, but another to lie about setting up a meeting with a specific person. I anticipated this meeting that , I believe, they knew never was going to occur. Very brutal! Have a heart!

Why hospitality? Scenarios about people yelling at you because of overbooked rooms aka "what would you do"? Why would you be right for this role? Etc.

They asked how I would respond to certain scenarios. What I would do in other scenarios. Overall nothing too hard and why I wanted to work there. They want to make sure you’ll stay calm in all scenarios

      Front Desk Agent Interview

      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Hyatt

      Interview

I started applying to work for the Hyatt back in 2020 with only two years of experience for a front desk position. Fast forward to now 2024, with nearly 6 years of front desk experience and still can't even land a basic entry level position. Submitted an application, and was automatically denied the very next day, no interview whatsoever. Apparently six years of experience isn't enough. You need a Bachelor's degree to work the front desk and check people in. Either that or the person at HR is pulling names out of hats.

      Question 1

Submitted an application for the front desk. Got rejected 12 hours later with no contact. Even with 6 years of experience.

It was easy, just answer truthfully and say things about yourself and you’re hired. You must bring your id and other personal information about self that will identify you to the employer.
