I believe you should always read these reviews with a pinch of salt, but here was my experience.
I was contacted by the Talent team with regards to a role. She arranged a pre-screen phone call, as per usual with CROs to discuss the role, salary expectations etc, it was satisfactory.
The next step was the interview. I did not hear back from the talent team for some time, expecting that the interview would be arranged. A month later this was arranged with the Project Directors. The video-conference was poor really, there was no signal on the receiving end, a black screen and poor sound. This happens I understand that but I tested my system beforehand. The first director to attend was 10 minutes late, the second director 20 minutes late, after questioning the first director left abruptly as she had lost signal altogether. And I was left with one Director covering for the other. I don't believe they had seen my CV beforehand.
I had not heard back from the Talent team post-interview. Ultimately, I would have to email a number of times to no avail, but only when contacting the lead talent recruiter I would get a reply. It was most unusual. You would never hear back but only when emailing the lead you would hear back. Finally, after a few months I had received a reply suggesting I would receive a result the following day, it never came so I withdrew my application. The reply was 'she wanted to keep me informed' or 'timelines are longer than anticipated'. I never received a reply in the end, no counter offer - perhaps they had a better candidate.
I got an offer elsewhere and I'm glad I didn't wait on Icon. The whole process is flawed and its unattractive. I am unsure what the Talent team do, but from reading the comments it seems common practise, I wonder if they could follow through with their commitments.
