I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at IKEA (Croydon, England) in June 2016
Interview
Set in a room, with a group for maybe 20 plus people. It seemed like each person was applying for a different role at Ikea. The person next to me was interested in the job role of design, and another person was applying for the role as a co worker.I seemed to be the only person who applied for the job role as Logistics nightshift co worker.
First group exercise was to speak about the person next to you,you spend around five minutes speaking to the other person.Find out there name, where there are from and something interesting about them. After that exercise the next one was to take a item from the table and you then have to speak about why you chose that product and the uses. The next exercise was to decide with the person next to you which out of your products you was going to keep and which one to put back then discuss further about the product to the group.
The last exercise was put into a larger group and you had 30 minutes to discuss the what you know about retail and expect. Each of the three split groups spoke in turn about retail and what there groups discussed.
After a few hours of the interview process we was all told about the job role, which was just for weekend work and a co worker on the shop floor. The job i applied for was for many more hours than just weekend work and the hours and time where written clearly on the ikea site.We was given availability forms to write the hours and times we could do but was told there only needed weekend day staff.
.Basically went to this interview process for the job i applied for and the hours that ikea where offering only to be told this was a interview for daytime job and less hours. This was not stated clearly on the email to accept this interview,if i had known this would not have accepted the invitation.

Online application, through their website, followed by a phone call (meant as an invitation to the interview). Interview at the store's offices, with the Team Leader and the Goodsflow Manager. Questions were mostly meant to identify the type of person, past experiences and motivation to work for the company. Overall it took about 1 hour, as they show true interest in you as a person, as well as your personal and professional motivations.
