The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at IKEA (Bristol, England)
Interview
Had to drive 130 miles for my interview a group stage I’d expect to find for a red coat at butlins. Told all about how successful the people interviewing us had been. Then given a series of childish activities to do then a 5 minutes interview. Bearing in mind I live 140 miles away from my nearest store the feedback I got was I hadn’t visited an ikea ... they haven’t opened one anywhere near where I live so couldn’t and then I hadn’t worked with furniture.... they could have read that in my CV before making me drive 260 miles and waste a day of my life

Question 1
Nothing out of the ordinary just very little effort to actually get to know me
I applied through other source. I interviewed at IKEA (Calgary, AB) in Nov 2025
Interview
Very good, and responsive recruiter. The process was well done and on track. Everyone was responsive in a timely fashion. Pleasantly surprised. Met with a re recruiter and then with 2 managers. Next will apparently be a country manager.

Question 1
How I responded to a difficult situation with employees
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at IKEA (Frisco, TX) in Jan 2023
Interview
Everything is routed through a corporate recruiter which causes a bit of a disconnect from the actual operation. First a phone screen with the recruiter. Next an in-store interview with the hiring manager. Seems like a good place to work, low turnover and good benefits.
