I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Idea Exchange (Cambridge, ON) in Apr 2021
Interview
It’s very friendly towards those who are looking for a first job. They understand that you likely haven’t interviewed before, and don’t ask any difficult questions. Even if you don’t get the position, even just interviewing is great experience when you’re in high school.

Question 1
They gave me a cart of books and asked how I would organize and shelve them - they want to see if you have an intuitive understanding of the dewy decimal system.

Interview
Interview Process begins with a phone screening, followed by a panel interview. In the interview, you will be asked situational, behavioral and opinion questions. You may be asked to present a children's program proposal, and/or read a children's book out-loud, pretending there is an audience of young people.

Question 1
How would you structure a program for 100-200 children ages 1-12
Very short set timeframe for the interview and abruptly ended once that time was up because supposedly other candidates were waiting. My responses were cut off/interrupted by the interviewer. Overall left with a negative view of the organization. Was asked to bring a portfolio then asked to leave it behind... Was not advised ahead of time that I would need to leave it. This is not normal practice.
