I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Illumina (Madison, WI) in Apr 2018
Interview
Initially had an interview with hiring manager over the phone which was okay, and then invited for an on-site. On-site interview was rather unpleasant: not funded for transport, or any re-reimbursement for travel. I was grilled and at no point felt welcomed during the interview process. Interviews lasted for 3 hours with different representatives. Some questions seemed bizarre for an established company. Furthermore, no employees I had spoken during the interviews returned any emails on questions I had following the process.
