I applied through other source. I interviewed at International Boundary and Water Commission (El Paso, TX)
Interview
I originally applied for a position with another Federal Agency and was among several people who took a preliminary application test that included skills testing. New with the Government, I did not realize that my name was then placed on a roster. The hiring Federal Agency called me for an interview in person. Very pleasant interview with Supervisor at the time. The Supervisor was friendly and professional in representing himself, the Agency and the department I would work for.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at International Boundary and Water Commission in Aug 2014
Interview
Phone and face to face. After the phone interview I was flown to El Paso for a panel interview. The face to face interview seemed curiously focused on what I knew about the history of the agency. It was also communicated to me during the interview that I was expected, if hired, to recreate the division from scratch including writing directives defining the division. I found this interesting since the agency was 100 years old.
