I interviewed at International Language Institute (DC) (Washington, DC)
Interview
We talked about teaching experience, and teaching philosophy mostly. Asked about schedule flexibility, whether comfortable teaching a group class etc. The person who interviewed me was nice, respectful and the chat was very unstructured and relaxing.

Question 1
In your experience, what is the biggest challenge when students are learning a new language?
I applied online. I interviewed at International Language Institute (DC) in July 2024
Interview
They only hire people who are English native speakers, without mentioning that in their job post. They completely disregard the education, qualifications and years of experience if you have a slight accent. It is discriminatory! And an offense to one's intelligence when they come up, over the phone screening, with some pathetic nonsense that doesn't mean neither "yay' nor "nay".
The resume shows the applicant's background and work story, so why bother them with a call if they aren't native speakers?
One can easily guess what the issue is, not the qualification and expertise, but the accent. It is shameful and a crass disrespect!
