I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at InventCan (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2023
Interview
A took an interview here several months ago, and what an experience. First the whole process took about 3 and a half hours, which is ludicrous for what was actually accomplished during that time. The technical test was a joke, and implied that it was simply a formality. When talking to HR I was provided a paper and pencil while they talked me through what would be in my contract. Some of the most egregious things included: Them holding a paycheck until I left for "IP reasons", paying a substantial part of my bonuses (multiple thousands) with gift cards, expecting to hold onto my passport for me, about 30-40% of the listed salary being relegated to several tiers of "bonuses", expected to work 10+ hour days and come in every other saturday. But the most concerning part came after all this: I asked how they would send me my contract to look over. They informed me they would "tell me what's on it and where to sign once I've agreed to all the terms they had me write down". Obviously a red flag I requested to take home the contract to review, which is immediately refused. They're illegally preying on immigrants and they're fully aware of it.
