I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Just Play (Newtown, PA)
Interview
I applied to the role and about 10 days later the manager of the group emailed me asking if I would be available for a phone interview. During the phone interview, I asked him about how advanced the data analysis was, because I didn't want to do the interview if it was too advanced. He didn't really address my question. He just said that it was prefilled formulas. He asked what time I would want to come in for an interview, the morning or afternoon. I told him the morning. However, he scheduled me for 8 AM. I was told that I would be sent an assignment to work on to test my skills later that day. He didn't sent it until the next night at 10 PM, which was the Saturday before Easter Sunday. I had to do this assignment, celebrate Easter, and prepare for the job interview in a few days. The assignment was also more difficult data analysis than I expected.
During the on-site interview, I met with 3 people, a person who worked under the manager, the manager, and an executive. I didn't deal with an HR person. They asked me what data analysis I performed at my job and to describe it, why I majored in my college major, why I applied. I was told that I wouldn't be able to leave at the same time each day. All of the people were yawning and acting tired who interviewed me. I thought that it was unprofessional. I'm not the one who said 8 AM. When I said the morning, I didn't mean 8 AM, because then I had to get up at 5 AM to get there on time.
I got a rejection email about 2 weeks later. I think that this is one of those jobs where they overwork a newly grad, and then the employee quits after a year.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe the tasks you work on at your current job.
I had a really negative experience for a position in People operations. First, it took them almost 4-5 weeks after I applied for them to reach out to me. Then, we had a call, it was really informal, the interviewer was eating while we had the interview and had the camera off. It was really uncomfortable. After around 45 minutes talking, I was told I would receive an answer in 2 days. It has been 3 weeks since then and I don't even want to bother writing them for an answer. I would never applied for this company again.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Just Play (Newtown, PA) in Apr 2021
Interview
I was interviewed briefly by HR then interviews were set up with a couple of managers on the team. The interview process was pretty standard, however it was a long process as the offer came months after the interview. I had to keep following up to see if I was still being considered.
