      Copywriter Interview

      19 Mar 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Los Angeles, CA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at KITSCH (Los Angeles, CA) in Oct 2025

      Interview

If they reach out with an interview, run clear in the other direction. Chaotic, unorganized and they required a full marketing campaign to be completed in a less than 24hr turnaround. And then it’s not even discussed, you will do the “assessment”, go through four rounds of interviews and it will never be brought up again. What’s the point of doing what is essentially unpaid work if you’re not even going to review it with the candidate? Also, let’s stop normalizing asking candidates to do unpaid work in the first place. Did all of that, jumped through their hoops only for them to severely lowball on the offer and then ghost me for several days while they figured out how to answer basic questions that anyone would ask during a job offer. I honestly feel like I dodged a huge bullet.

How do I influence retention and acquisition which I’ve never been asked in my life as a copywriter.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at KITSCH in June 2024

      Interview

I was contacted from someone on their team inviting me to interview. Everyone with whom I spoke was very nice but I just don’t understand the complete lack of communication following our final interview. First round interview and task portion went alright apart from them not wanting to discuss their salary range (which wasn’t included online anywhere either). Then I had a meeting with the CEO and another member of the team and it seemed that things were headed in the right direction but as soon as I emailed to follow up with their team (same day as the interview) I received no response from anyone on their team—not the person who reached out to me, not HR who set up the interview, nor the CEO or other team member who instructed me to email them with any questions following the interview. If they had gone with another candidate or closed the role I would have understood, but at least communicate that and don’t leave people waiting.

      Interview

Look, I want to do you all a solid and let you know before applying: this company will make you take a Wonderlic Assessment. I know this is a relatively commonplace practice, but it always feels...icky. In fact, many believe pre-employment assessments to be discriminatory towards age and race. After the assessment, they'll send you a feedback report detailing your "workplace strengths." But, they won't let you know how you did on the cognitive portion, which (if you don't move on in the interview process) leaves you wondering if you're a failure who needs to Billy-Madison their way through elementary school again. Again, icky.
