I was referred to the internal recruiter Dey by my friend. Dey contacted me via email with a greeting and a code challenge. She said to finish the code challenge in a week and send it to her. Once I did she responded in a couple days with an invitation for an in person interview. A couple of days later I went in for my in person interview and it consisted on two parts. The first person to come through was an ex intern back end engineer. He talked to me about my background and experience level. What was promising was he had come from a coding bootcamp as well. The second part was with Nigel the LEAD back end engineer. He asked me some technical questions and he me white board two different coding challenges. What was nice was he talked me through it knowing I was an intern. I was very truthful and told him that I did not know alot about 1 of the questions. His response was, " Thats ok, but thank you for being honest. Actually that is hard to find in a person so I appreciate that." I did complete the second challenge and we spoke about how he was from a coding bootcamp and about my background. After the second part Dey came in and walked me to the door. She told me I would hear from her in a couple of days with the results. I waited 3 days and she did contact me via phone to tell me I was offered the internship.
