The process has been quite unclear. I applied for three roles that were strong matches for my background. After some delays, I finally connected with a recruiter—though notably, he did not show up for our originally scheduled interview. During the rescheduled call, the recruiter was 8 min late and said it was a hard stop in 22 min. I tried to cover a lot of material and was told I was hard to follow. The recruiter remarked that I “haven’t done much in the past few years,” referring dismissively to my maternity leave since late 2023. I’ve since heard nothing for a while until was send a rejection. When asked for feedback was told there were a lot of stronger candidates, with more recent experience, which has left me confused about the second round interview status and overall process.

I had four phone interviews over the course of two weeks. Each interview was 45 minutes in length. After that, I was invited to come on-site to SF for face-to-face interviews. The culture and people really impressed me.
