I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kroger (Knoxville, TN) in Mar 2012
Interview
The interview was very comfortable and laid back. The lady who interviewed me was very relatable and not intimidating at all. I wore a button up and khakis. The only questions that were asked were why I chose kroger and why kroger should choose me. If they give you a drug test at the end that means your hired because they arnt going to waste one on someone they don't want.
First interview was over the phone and given easy situational questions and given a date/time for an in person interview. Second interview was a small group interview that lasted about 20-30 minutes. Was not a typical interview as the recruiter gave us a worksheet with one question asking us what our favorite Kroger products were. Later, we had to discuss as our group why we chose the product, as a group pick one, and then make a sales pitch for it. Third interview was confirmation on hours and job description as well as a drug test.

super easy going, the interviewer was polite and also he was impressed that I had asked him post interview questions like, "why do you like working for Kroger?" and I was super nervous to ask the questions but he assured me that it was okay and I asked them anyway.
