I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Kuehne+Nagel in June 2022
Interview
The recruiter was nice and informative. He was quick to reply and give feedback.
The interview steps were;
1. HR Interview
2. First technical and design interview with the hiring manager
3. Case study for a week
4. Last technical interview with the team to review the code you implemented
5. Feedback/Offer
Every step was smooth and clear. After the last interview, I received negative feedback that I'm not selected for the position.
I asked for feedback and was told that my front-end and docker knowledge was not sufficient for the position. However, in the job description, there was no statement about it so I didn't include it in my resume. It was more shocking for me that after completing the project by making use of docker-compose, giving as a second reason not having Docker knowledge.
Of course, rejecting is ok but after putting in my time and a great amount of effort, that feedback was disappointing. I will definitely think twice to apply next time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
past work experiences, design patterns, webservice implementations, etc.
It was a very good experience overall. The interviewer was helpful, professional, and made the conversation comfortable. The questions were relevant to the role and gave me a fair opportunity to explain my skills and experience. The HR team was also supportive, responsive, and kept me informed throughout the process. The entire interview process was smooth, well-organized, and respectful of the candidate's time. Overall, I had a positive experience and would definitely recommend others to go for it. It's a great opportunity to interact with a professional team and learn from the interview process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One thing they specifically asked me was to explain my previous project in detail, including the technologies I used, my responsibilities, and the challenges I faced. They were interested in understanding my thought process and how I approached problem-solving. Apart from answering their questions, I also shared additional details about the optimizations I implemented, my experience working with React, state management, API integration, and how I collaborated with team members to deliver features. The discussion was interactive and gave me a chance to showcase both my technical skills and practical experience.
Had 1 technical interview in which the interviewers' approach felt appropriate. Some exercices of looking at code snippets and telling what to expect, and some questions and discussions related to system design.
