I applied through university. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at L'Oréal (Singapore) in Nov 2017
Interview
It was a three-stage interview process that took place over 3 different sessions. Basically you have to pass the first stage to get to the final one.
It all begins with a phone interview with the HR, asking you basically questions. Tell me more about yourself, why L'Oreal, why FMCG Finance etc.
The first interview was a 30 minutes case study, where you were given a laptop with a PDF containing the case study and an Excel sheet containing the numbers (pretty simple). You have to work on it alone in a room and then present the findings to a panel of 7. They will ask some basic questions about the sanity of the suggestions you suggested and try to be as creative as possible, of course without being insane.
Second interview was a let down. It was an interview with 2 directors, CFO and HR director. They seemed really bored during the interview and it ended within 15 minutes. The entire interview felt like they have a firm candidate in mind and were just going through the motion for the remaining candidates. Question format was spontaneous, conversation-like, really to know more about you.
All in all, I felt that the training programme wasn't suitable for me too.
- Not exactly a structured programme, afterall they are only hiring 1 MT for finance, I doubt their commitment to invest resources to "train" you up
- The role felt it leaned more towards operational finance functions, such as doing payroll, rather than a management role such as grooming you to become a financial controller for a brand
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at L'Oréal in Nov 2025
Interview
Assessment centre had a 1 hour group task, an individual case study with 45 minutes prep time and 10 minutes for presenting, then a one on one 30 minute interview.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at L'Oréal (London, England) in Oct 2023
Interview
For the assessment centre in person, we had a group task to plan things, and then personal quantitative case study. If you passed those two, you had a final one on one interview.
I applied online. I interviewed at L'Oréal in June 2023
Interview
The interview process was somewhat lengthy and took about 2-3 months in all. I met with HR person, then two managers, and the final round was with head director. I thought all of my interviews went well, but I ultimately did not get hired for the program.
