I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LIN Media in July 2014
Interview
The interview process for Lin Media is very aggressive and in depth. There is a phone interview and then 2-3 in person interviews. Doing your homework on the company and the position you are applying for is a must. You want to make sure that you have questions to ask at the end of your interview as well as be prepared to answer some difficult interview questions yourself. Some questions I have never been asked before and was surprised by the question. None of which were inappropriate, just questions that truly get into the meat of who you are and if you are the right person for the job.

Question 1
Asked to explain the strengths and weaknesses of my own personal industry I am coming from and all the other media outlets available.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at LIN Media (Austin, TX)
Interview
Note: I interviewed at Lin Digital, a newly acquired company by Lin Media. (Formerly Red Mccombs Media)
I submitted a resume/cover letter, we exchanged emails, we scheduled an interview. The process was relaxed, and the interview was mostly conversational. The office seems to consist of a fairly young workforce. People don't seem to interact across departments.
The whole process was positive, but I found it a bit unprofessional they never formally indicated the position had been filled. Had I not heard from an acquaintance, I would have been waiting to hear back for 2 months. (They had informed me it would take that long to make a decision.)
