I did the pre screening interview and I had a pretty bad experience. I immediately withdrew my application a few minutes after the interview was over.
A few things that were red flags to me were the following:
I mentioned that I lived in Koreatown and I was asked if I was Korean.
Typical questions used to evaluate a company were unable to be answered. The questions I asked were “what does the team structure look like and what external and internal resources are available to assist in job duties?” Generally trying to see what support does this role have and who collaborates with the role. I then tried to go more high level and simply ask what the salary range for the job is since there was none provided. I was not given a concrete answer then was told that was an inappropriate question for a pre screening call.
I was unwilling to move forward and give any additional time to Legalsoft if they were not going to be respectful of mine. I’d be weary of interviewing with this company that supports legal services but violates hiring practices by asking people’s ethnicity during interviews and not providing salary bands then deeming it “inappropriate” to discuss salary expectations.
