Toxic environment with a micromanaging CEO

Pros

- If you are VA, you are happy to have a remote job working for a US based company. - If you are local LA based employee - most of the people who work for the company are nice. - Unfortunately, everyone at every level is micromanaged on how to do their job by a CEO who is out of touch.

Cons

- STAY AWAY!!! - By far, the absolute worse company I have ever been a part of. - An out-of-touch CEO who micromanages every employee at every level and instructs them how to do their job. Unfortunately, he has no clue how to do their job, but wants to push everyone's buttons and threatens to fire everyone all the time. - No forward planning - everything is done on a whim. No decision is made with any actual insight, just what the CEO feels at that moment. - Highest turnover rate of any company you will ever find. With less than 25 employees, CEO determines to randomly let go an average of 1-2 people per week. - Weekly, the CEO routinely changes company direction, processes, and pricing for clients. - Cameras are placed throughout the building, everyone clocks in and out, and the CEO routinely walks throughout the office and watches over people's backs to see what they're doing. - Absolutely STAY AWAY. Company hires people every other week for a variety of positions, but only for the CEO to decide he doesn't need someone he hired a month ago. - With the exception of a few people, no one lasts more than 1 year.

Pros

- most people there are kind and decent - bagels/donuts on Wednesdays These are literally the only good things...

Cons

- insane turnover (3 people fired, 2 people laid off, 2 quit, 1 demoted in a few months with only about 30 people onsite). This tells you everything about a business... - 2 people were fired for making minor mistakes. The CEO just randomly snaps and says fire people. - absolute chaos - no processes, constant changes everywhere. - if you work onsite you will rely on 50 remote VAs to do anything - most people are incompetent, onsite people rely on remote VAs, VAs are happy to manually copy info from one spreadsheet to another for 8 hours a day - bad benefits that take 90 days to kick in - the entire company is run off a spreadsheet (I'm not kidding..) - micro-managing Ignore all the VA reviews here if you are working onsite, they are just happy to have jobs. Working here is chaos incarnate. The worst job I've ever had. I'm so glad I left.

Pros

The bad matter of fixing issues take away from any pros

Cons

Time clock matter fix is horrible, you have to take sometimes hours off your own free time sending information to get a simple issue fixed. if your time clock stopped and you're working all day missing even an hour then you have to go through your history find where that hour was missing somehow take a photo with the date stamp which is not going to happen if you do it the next day or days after. Then you are denied for compensation of work because you cannot prove with their foolish method that you were working. They can simply speak to the supervisor of the Law Firm that you're working with to know that you werre indeed working all day. There's multiple applications that they can review to see that the representative has been working all day. They can simply review the applications working history to know that you have been working. however they only give you one form fixing the issue and the issue cannot be fixed at all will the date stamp if you don't do it the same day.
