Question 1
Which are more important / better, branded items or Lidl own brand?
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Lidl (London, England) in May 2016
Interview
Telephone interview came first. Their recruiter called and asked me a couple of questions as to why I wanted this job. She then said that she would like to schedule me for a telephone interview. The questions were all situational...'tell me a time when' 'how do you approach deadlines'. The interview was quick, about 15-20 mins and then I got put through to the numerical reasoning.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Lidl in Jan 2014
Interview
The initial application phase online is fairly straight forward. You fill out an online application form and attach your CV as well as a covering letter online. About four weeks later I got invited to the assessment centre which took place at Lidl UK's headquarters in Wimbledon, South West London.
The day consisted of a numerical test, group presentations and individual interviews. If you are somewhat adequate with maths, the numerical test isn't that hard. The group presentation was more like a short introduction and typical questions such as Why Lidl and why this position were asked. The individual interview was definitely the most difficult. It was about 30 minutes long and consisted of competency based questions and a role play.
One week later I got invited to the second interview which was one hour long. This was with a specific department within buying. The questions were similar to the previous interview.
Good luck to everyone applying.
