Very easy and relaxed process. I was interviewed by a store manager and deputy store manager. Just need to revise times you’ve given some sort of customer care. Took about 20 mins
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
They asked about a time I had a bad customer experience, a time I provided exceptional customer service. The only question that was not recalling something I had done, is when they asked, “there’s a spillage, a long queue at the tills, no milk stocked, and an unorganised veg section, in what order do you help?”
Very straightforward process.
One person interviewed me and asked a few questions.
Did not last more than an hour, if that.
I had one interview and then an offer was made.
Phone interview and then in person interview. Pretty quick and easy and doesn’t take long to hear back. Questions are pretty standard like ‘why Lidl?’ and ‘what’s your favourite item we sell’. Also a few scenario based questions.
I applied online. I interviewed at Lidl (Cardiff, Wales) in Jan 2026
Interview
Really nice manager and chill atmosphere. Didn't ask me any scenario based questions or any that I had to provide a "star" like paragraph; more focused on how prepared/ committed/ able you are to do a lot of work.
