I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at MAG Aerospace (Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD) in Sept 2021
Interview
Overall, the interviews themself were quite easy for an entry level role. I was not asked one technical question, I just had to go over my school experience and explain the roles I played in my projects. They asked if I had a willingness to learn software engineering for networking, which I had no experience with. The hiring manager interviewing me was kind and knowledgeable.
It was the recruiter that I had an awful experience with. They just did not listen. First, asking when I was available, I gave a range of dates and times, and they say okay, lets do it an hour earlier then you said you are available. Whatever, fine. Phone call, and they address me by a name that is not mine (and I have a very common name)
Then the offer comes in. It came in at 9:00pm on a Thursday, and I had until September 11th (of all days!) to accept. A two day window was not enough time, so I explained to the recruiter I would need a week given my other interview obligations. They say, okay, you can have the weekend to decide. Again, not enough time. I decline the offer, and the recruiter comes back complaining that I did not take it, completely disregarding the reason I could not accept (I was waiting for other interviews and offers to come in!)
Overall, if you get a good recruiter, you lucked out, because mine was completely unprofessional.
