Interview
Submit the CV and research statement. They will require the reference letter, usually at least 3 letters. After several weeks, I got the onsite interview, including public presentation, talked with professors, talked with industrial coordinator, talked with students and other postdocs, lunch, dinner. It took one day and I got the response very soon.

Internet application required CV and cover letter. Phone interview, on site interview including seminar before receiving an offer. During the phone interview I received general background research questions from 3 people and more sitting in the background. On site interview included 1:1 with 7 professors/researchers and a 1 hour seminar.

Interview
It was a great experience. I gave a presentation for the whole group. They asked technical questions related to my work and presentation. They also asked specifically about my papers and patents.
I applied for an advertized position and was short listed. I was interviewed on Skype as I was in Europe during that time. After the interview, email confirming my acceptance came and work permit documents were soon dispatached within 2 weeks. It took 1 month after administrative processing at US embassy for J1 visa
