      Account Manager Interview

      16 May 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Madeviral in Feb 2024

      Interview

There were 3 interviews. First was HR screening which went smoothly. 2nd is interview with one of the founders. It took almost 1hr and 15mins and I was able to answer all his questions. At this part, they basically already know that my background is content/digital marketing and NOT gaming. After that, they asked me to create an IMC proposal for one of their current clients. At first, I was hesitant to do the task because I was basically doing the proposal for free. In the end, I still did the proposal because I was really interested in getting the job. I made over 30 slides within a 5-day deadline! Assuming that I passed the assessment, I was invited for the final interview with one of the founders again. The final interview took another 1hr of my time, the founder was saying that I had no experience in gaming and it's not something that they can teach me over time. He also said that my proposal reflected that I only know the basics of marketing and don't really know much about the gaming industry. Given this feedback, my initial thoughts were "Why did you invite me for another interview?". More importantly, they already know from the get-go that I have zero experience in the gaming industry - why did they still continue interviewing me? Overall, total waste of my time and resources. I also felt robbed because I did a 30-slider proposal for one of their current clients.
