I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Maryland Coalition Against Sexual Assault
Interview
Initial screening interview was about 20-25 minutes with two current employees (one attorney and a legal advocate). Learned about the organization's mission, departments, and more about the role. Be prepared with an elevator pitch and for common interview questions.

Interview
Completed an interview over Zoom and waited a few weeks to hear back. After two weeks, I contacted MCASA, asking for an update on the process. I received a curt one-sentence email from Rachel Spiegelman saying, "MCASA is still filling the role." I never received any additional communication from MCASA despite having completed an interview. I understand that the volume of applicants can be challenging, but it's unprofessional and rude that MCASA ghosts people even after a first-round interview. Months later, I could finally confirm the job status by checking the staff page online and seeing a person listed for the role I applied for.
Based on the reviews here, MCASA consistently ghosts applicants during the hiring process.
This repeated lack of professionalism and follow-through reflects a disconnected and poorly run non-profit. Though hollow, a mass rejection email takes less than 15 minutes and demonstrates the bare minimum of respect for candidates. Applicants who apply in this field care about ending sexual violence. Based on my experience, I would not recommend MCASA to anyone in my network, and I will never donate to the organization despite its valuable programming.

Interview
Received an invitation to interview TWO MONTHS after applying. There were two rounds of zoom interviews, more than a MONTH apart. You will NOT hear back if you don't get the job, even if you follow up. Completely unprofessional behavior even though everyone was super nice in the interview. An organization whose goal is to help victims should be better at COMMUNICATING.
