I applied for the position directly on the company's website at the beginning of February and got a call from a recruiter the very next day. She had left me a voicemail, as I was working when she actually called. I called back shortly after and had the most bizarre phone screen I have ever had. It seriously lasted 7 minutes and straight away she asked if I had experience with the system they use. I had no issue with them asking that right off the bat if that is required for the role, however, the recruiter had 0 interest in actually hearing about what experience I do have or getting to know me as a candidate. She said she would give my resume to the hiring manager and tell him we talked about my experience (we didn't) and that she would let me know either way. It just was so strange to me because she really did not ask me ANYTHING about my resume and I only briefly had a chance to even mention why I was interested in the role and why I could be a fit. She said she liked my personality and then practically rushed me off the phone. It's been over 3 weeks and I never did hear back, which is fine by me. Having worked in within HR for several years, the phone call just seemed really unprofessional and not what I'd expect even for a phone screen. They should probably consider the fact that professionals within the data analytics industry are tech savvy and can learn systems quickly.
