I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at MassMutual (Salt Lake City, UT) in Oct 2015
Interview
On Campus Recruitment
In person informal HR interview at MM
Personality pop7 test at home
2 on 1 Job Details lecture/interview
p200
I then stopped the interview process at that point
In the HR interview it was typical personal stuff and why you'd like to work there and leaderhsip/diverse experiences and teamwork yadda yadda...
The pop7 is a personality test where they want you to say that you are an aggressive sales person who's outgoing and competitive etc...look up the sort of answers you are expected to give and you should get a 5 easy.
the job details overview was mostly me listening and chiming in to show I understood. It was a senior sales rep and the HR person again. Look sharp and pay attention.
Then they want you to get a list of 200 names for your initial clients (p200), where it seems like they really just want to be able to take advantage of the fact that your friends and family are more likely to buy insurance from you than from MM directly. I'm not saying it's a scam, but understand that a very small percentage of starting financial services reps actually make it in this business, but MM gets all those names from every single one of them regardless. I wasn't about to compromise all of my family/friend relations for that.
After that is an interview with the president which I never did because I chose not to complete the p200 and thus the interview process.

Question 1
typical interview questions, prodding to see if you are psychologically normal, can work in groups, know generally what MM does, etc...
I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at MassMutual (Lake Oswego, OR) in Mar 2024
Interview
went well, was fairly easy, only had two rounds before coming into the office, overall was positive experience where i felt comfortable to be myself, although the internship itself was a sell to friends and family type of job.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at MassMutual (Lake Oswego, OR) in Mar 2024
Interview
They asked if I was capable of lots of networking and gave me a homework assignment to talk to closest 10 people about my potential new career. There was nothing too hard about it.

Tell me why you are interested in financial services
I applied in-person. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at MassMutual (Walnut Creek, CA) in Apr 2023
Interview
It was a pleasant experience. I was jobhunting for quite a while. COVID and post-COVID created a highly intense job market. I was at a job fair, and decided to move forward with the interview.
HR recruiter was very nice, bubbly, and she answered a lot of questions with detail about different specs.
Later on, the hiring manager later became my supervisor. He was also very nice.
The interview questions were standard: "tell me about yourself" and "what do you look to gain from working with us."
after a few phone calls and 2 zoom interviews, I was in.
It felt more like vibe-checking.
They told me licenses and education will be reimbursed after I get accepted.
There is a contract phase where you are given 30 days to try out the job and meet a quota. If you feel comfortable, you can accept the full-time role. If not, no ties, no harm. (But the reimbursement will be out of your pocket).
