I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at McMaster-Carr (Elmhurst, IL) in Dec 2015
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter who asked if I was interested in scheduling a phone interview. The phone interview was pretty standard - my recruiter went through my resume and asked me to talk about some of my experiences listed there. I was offered an in person interview at the Elmhurst location, which I accepted. The company flew me out to Chicago where I participated in a superday of interviews. You start with a tour of the facility (warehouse and offices), and while you are walking around your guide is asking you questions and also expects you to ask as many questions as possible as well. After this, I had a brief one on one interview in which my interview wanted to know about any questions I had about the company and the things that stood out to me during my tour. This was followed by a lunch interview and two more one on one interviews. The interviews were pretty simple and focused mainly on my resume and past experiences. The common thread throughout all of my interviews was that each person kept explicitly asking me if I had any questions, so definitely go in with tons of questions and be as observant as possible so you formulate questions on the go. I got a call from my recruiter two days later with a job offer.
