      Vice President Interview

      8 July 2010
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Merkle in June 2010

      Interview

Interview questions were not in line with the job description for this position. Interviewer (hiring manager) had a very vague notion of the qualifications he was looking for in a successful candidate (i.e., previous senior role in Big 5). He explained that they wanted to take the firm in a new direction, but wouldn't detail what that was or how they planned to get there. After I asked questions to gain more understanding of what that meant -- important for this senior role - he still woudn't talk about the direction and only wanted to talk about my previously project experience. Bottom line, I couldn't determine how to target my answers to meet what they were looking for - it was a fishing expedition.

      15 Dec 2022
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Remote
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Merkle (Remote) in Mar 2022

      Interview

Started with a 30 min HR interview on phone, and then another 30 min phone interview with hiring manager. After that, 3 individual video interviews each 30 mins long. After that, then present a case study to the same 3 people who did the video interviews. Between the actual interviews and preparing the presentation, I spent over 8 hours. Was told I would hear something in 2 days. Nothing. Followed up the next week with HR, was told would hear by the end of the week. Nothing. Wrote again the following week. Nothing. Finally, 3 weeks after the last interview a very short, curt email telling me what I already knew at that point.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Mostly questions about my background, type of work I liked to do. One of the interviewers had only worked there 3 months so she didn't really have anything to ask. The presentation was essentially to present a project you worked on in the past that has some relationship to the job you're applying for.

      Anonymous employee

      Neutral experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Merkle in May 2010

      Interview

Company puts employees thru grueling day of gang interviews in company (interviewed by 6-8 different people) and then you get the "privilege" of presenting to this group to see how you present under pressure

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

not any question but rather then group presentation at end of a long day of interviews that proves challenging
