Screen Call:
Beware that they will call you unannounced or without scheduling or with a confirmation email. This left me feeling unprepared, mentally, as I was driving and not expected to answer interview questions. You will be asked to explain areas of your resume, asked when you could start, be told a little bit more about the position and who they are. This is typical of a screen call, nonetheless, we scheduled the first Zoom interview for the next couple of days. When I got the gentlemans name, I assumed it was their recruiter- turns out it was the CEO.
Zoom Interview:
The zoom interview was done by the CEO again. You will be asked the same questions that you answered on the phone screening call prior when scheduling. I was wondering why I was repeating myself but also extended grace that it might just be part of the protocol. I also thought I was told (but maybe not) that I would speak with HR and it wasn't. The Zoom interview was scheduled to be about 15 minutes which was accurate, and came prepped with some post-interview questions only to be told "how many because we have a meeting in 5" so I only asked two or three. That made me feel unimportant, usually, there should be enough buffer time scheduled after an interview for questions but it also didn't make me feel very welcome to even ask questions at that point even though they were happy to answer what I could ask. There is also an interesting emphasis on "leadership" and your interest in it as if its a program within the company.
Interview Steps:
There are three steps to the interview: Phone Screening, Zoom, and In Person.
If they go in a different direction, you will know if they do not call you by the time frame provided, essentially saying they'll ghost you if they aren't moving forward with you. It is pretty standard to at least receive an email from HR thanking you for your time and interest along with informing you they wouldn't be moving forward.
Overall, I'd say it was great for interview practice, but if you are a seasoned professional, this might not be for you.
