I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Mesko Spotting Service (Chester, VA) in Mar 2014
Interview
We started with OTJ training from the moment I walked up to the yard truck. It can't get much better than that. You have to gain a certain level of proficiency within a few weeks that's really just a judgment call for the lead yard driver if you want to keep your job. That's reasonable I think because the job relies heavily on skill and you have to prove that you can develop the skill with a minimum of accidents and a good amount of speed so you can run your shift alone.

Question 1
Have you ever backed up trailers or moved trailers before? You did? Cool. Here is a Tico or Ottawa yard truck. Go move some trailers. That is basically it.
