Started with resume/portfolio review, then completed a Next.js take-home project building a documentation component with search functionality. Had a debugging session where I fixed React performance issues in their codebase. Final round included technical discussion with a founder about scaling documentation platforms and team lunch discussing company culture.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Walk me through how you'd optimize the performance of a documentation site that's experiencing slow load times with large amounts of content.
A few technical interviews over Zoom (debugging, systems design), a behavioral, and finally an onsite. Questions were not super Leetcode/algorithms heavy and focused more on real engineering problems & correctness/speed of implementation.
A bit lengthier than other interview processes I've been through, but certainly not unreasonable and I enjoyed the process as all the steps felt meaningful and tailored to my experience and the position.
