A less than ideal experience of average difficulty with some off putting behavior. Team was mostly friendly along the interview process (HR chat, video with hiring manager, onsite interview; got to the final round when they sent an automated rejection email).
Few issues and suggestions: from the video interview, I got the sense that they never really seemed interested in me as a candidate. I’m not too sure why they even invited me for an onsite - maybe to meet some quota? I’m not sure. The team during the onsite was friendly and asked standard quality questions. This is really the only reason I am rating the experience as neutral instead of negative. Only suggestions to the company and this particular team: Please do not invite a candidate for an almost 4 hour onsite interview if they’re not a serious candidate. It is a massive waste of time and money (I had to spend $60 on transportation and move another interview around for this one) for the candidate; we do not get paid to go to interviews. And also, for the love of God, DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE DURING AN INTERVIEW! I can’t believe I have to say this! It is extremely unprofessional, and will leave a poor taste in the prospective hire’s mouth.
