I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at NalaGenetics (Singapore)
Interview
Applied online, the process was about 3 weeks. 1st interview was with 2 HR that lasted about 45 minutes including a psychometric test. 2nd interview was with the scientists that lasted about 40 minutes. HR arranges the interview through Whatsapp, then emails the Microsoft Teams/Google meet invite. If you made it to 2nd round, HR will text about a week later to arrange the interviews.
1st interview was split into three parts. In the first part, questions asked were the typical interview questions. When I have not finished answering a question, I told by the HR that they had to move on to the next segment, possibly due to time constraints. Personally I feel that if a question is asked, an answer by the interviewee should be given before going on to the next segment; it seems like they were asking for the "sake of asking" without wanting to know the interviewee better. The 2nd segment asked questions relating to my experience with lab and personality questions. Some questions were rather odd, not sure what is the significance of asking them. 3rd segment was the timed psychometric test. For the entire duration, HR did not on the camera at all, so I was talking to a Microsoft Teams screen instead. Leaning towards neutral experience with the HR.
2nd interview with the scientists asked about my experience with lab (again), career goals, how I found out about the company etc. Some questions were repeated from the HR interview. Generally positive experience with the scientists.
Was ghosted for 1+ week after the 2nd interview, had to email HR to check for outcome. Just my two cents: don't ghost applicants who have made it to the interview stage of the interview, even if it's the norm to ghost, common practice is not always the best/good practice. It isn't very nice to waste potential applicants' time when we could use the time to pursue other opportunities.
Overall, neutral interview experience.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
1st round:
Tell me about yourself.
What barriers would the company face to enter the market?
What is your greatest accomplishment?
What is your life goal?
If you have taken the MBTI test, may I know your MBTI?
Think of one colour and give me 3 words to describe it.
2nd round:
Tell me about yourself.
How did you find out about our company?
What are the laboratory techniques experiences you have?
What are your career goals?
The interview process was fast and accurate. The interviewer was kind and able to answer the queries when i asked about the culture. Overall it was a good experience and the questions were scenario based and slightly tough but was able to answer them
