      Research Scientist Interview

      2 Mar 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      York, England
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Nestlé (York, England) in Apr 2017

      Interview

Multi-level online application including asynchronous video interview, multiple aptitude tests, followed by assessment centre. There is a long online application process which involves several times tests and having to record yourself answering questions which appear on the screen, which will then be reviewed by someone at the company another time. You have to submit each level of the application and then wait to see if it is accepted before moving onto the next stage. This is quick for the online tests but took a while for the video interview. After this I was invited to a full day assessment centre with a group of approximately 10 people. We introduced ourselves, had some team work exercises, put together a presentation, individual interviews with two members of staff. The group exercise was the most difficult as you are asked to perform a task which is not possible in the allotted time, presumably to see how everyone performs under pressure. A lot of the candidates were very young and eager to get themselves notices resulting in the group spending most of the time talking over each other and being boisterous rather than cooperating. Overall not a pleasant experience and the highly stressful interview environment says a lot about the company as a whole.

      Interview

When it comes to job applications, the first step is often an automated interview with a robot. While this can be a convenient option, some job seekers may crave the personal touch of a face-to-face conversation with a real human.there is a first automated interview step for after you have applied to positions which you talk to a robot in a very limited time. would prefer to talk real human face to face .

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Nestlé (Lausanne) in Aug 2020

      Interview

Applied online and got invited for an interview after 3 months. Went straight to f2f interview (online). The questions were either technical to test knowledge or focused on opinions on controversial topics, to test creativity and discussion skills. There were some personal questions to check if my personality and lifestyle would fit the team. There was a lot of expectation on me asking the questions and driving the discussion, to check if I can hold the conversation. People were extremely friendly.
