contacted employee I met in grad school. Seemed like a great place to work. Environment was very professional but friendly. One phone interview with contact + on-site (1 hour). Soft HR question - "what qualities do you think a good supervisor has?" I followed up 2x ( 3 days & 4 weeks) with no response. My asking salary was a $5-$10k DECREASE and still no follow-up or offer.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at New York ISO (Rensselaer, NY) in May 2021
Interview
Long waiting game. Not much communication. Seems like they choose to fill a vacant position, not necessarily a need. Can be worth the wait if you want it to be if you get to the second round. Meet with members of the team, senior managers and then the director. Many levels of management.
