Had three interviews. First was to meet the hiring manager. The second was to meet some of the team members. And the third was to meet the head of the department. Each phase took a few weeks in between to coordinate dates and times. But overall, it was a very smooth process. I was quizzed on my knowledge of the company. Fortunately I had taken the time to read up via the firm's web site. This seemed to be a key component during my interview as it showed my interest in more than just attaining a higher salary.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
What was the most difficult situation I had to overcome over the past year, and how did I handle the situation?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at New York Life in July 2025
Interview
Process began with outreach from a Recruiter. The Recruiter was a bit disorganized and slow to respond to email when setting up the initial discussion but was great to work with. Four rounds of emails were set up beyond that and an Associate scheduled those using a calendaring system that worked well. Interviews were via Teams. The Recruiter notified me right after interviews of interest in making an offer and compensation was discussed. The negotiation process took a few days but was professional throughout. Ultimately accepted the offer after a pleasant experience.
