I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Nordstrom (Houston, TX) in Feb 2010
Interview
I applied online, and received a phone interview first. It was only 20 minutes or so and just consisted of simple questions about myself and what I was looking for in an internship. I was then invited for an office interview. The HR lady was very nice and asked me multiple behavioral questions. It lasted about 45 minutes. I was also asked to sell her something, and she picks the object. (she chose the necklace that I was wearing). She made it very easy and comfortable to talk with her. And a month later I received an offer.

I met with HR where they asked a few basic interview questions. At the end, I had to do a selling exercise of different items. It was overall laid back, and they wanted to get a sense of if I could interact with customers
