      Manager Interview

      6 Jan 2016
      Anonymous employee
      East Hanover, NJ
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Novartis (East Hanover, NJ) in Feb 2013

      Interview

There was a phone screen with the hiring manager, which lasted 30 minutes. This was a standard discussion about my experience, how it related to the role and questions about why I was looking for new opportunities. I was then invited on-site. The interview was done as a panel with 6 interviewers including the department head. This lasted for 60 minutes. They described the role, the culture, the expectations and then asked a mixture of technical and behavioral questions. They went in a circle sequentially. The last stage was a 1:1 interview with the VP who oversaw that department.

The interview process took 3 months, 3 rounds of interviews with several team members. After the 3rd round, I was starting to think they weren’t really hiring. What a waste of my time.

      Interview

Teams are very knowledgeable and welcoming. Asked a lot of technical questions. Scenario based questions were decent. It was a good experience. HR also asks decent amount of questions. Prepare and stay positive throughout. Don’t be too serious when answering

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Novartis (Mumbai) in Apr 2024

      Interview

Certainly! Here is the standardized version: --- The interview process consisted of three rounds. After the final round, the HR representative did not provide any results or respond to follow-up emails, which I found very unprofessional. Replying to follow-up emails is important, regardless of whether the outcome is successful or not, as it provides valuable feedback to the candidate. If this had occurred after the first round and resulted in my elimination, it might have been justified. However, after investing time in three rounds, such behavior is not appropriate for a people-friendly MNC like Novartis. Despite the significant time I invested in this process, my follow-up communication was ignored, and I was effectively ghosted. This behavior is disappointing, especially considering how smooth the interviews were and how friendly and lively the team appeared. HR representatives are not upholding the brand's reputation in the market through such unprofessional handling of recruitment processes. It is very unprofessional to consider no-reply as a sufficient response in every situation.
