I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Nyansa (Palo Alto, CA) in Dec 2017
Interview
Applied through LinkedIn. Their VP Engineering Dan called me and explained about their product and send me take home questions which include basic networking protocols and a ranking/sorting algorithm.
Later I went onsite, met Dan and solved two questions one basic algorithm and one multithreading. Dan demoed the product to me and I was impressed. The product is slick. The 2nd round was with Bala, delete a node from a linked list and BST. Also some networking questions. Later there were DS questions with the 1st engineer and Director of Analytics. The last round was a hashmap question. Got a chance to have lunch with the team and it was interesting that the whole team could sit in one room. That was before Christmas.
After the on-site, their did reference check during holidays and it was not great so we chatted twice about that. First with Dan and then with Abe the CEO. Dan works really hard and kept me updated even during holidays and after hours.
Feedback
It would be better if they could spent a bit more time talking about their product and engineering culture. I think Dan did a great job on that, but others not so much.
I care about product and culture a lot. If they are great, I would really want to work there.
