As a whole I thought the process was fantastic. You start by submitting your CV online like most jobs and if they like what they see you'll receive an email to complete their online interview. In this section you get a time limit to read and then answer blind questions, don't worry you get enough time to do a couple practice answers before submitting your videos. After this stage I was then invited to one of Octopus Energy's discovery days. Leading up to this in person day I received an email, from a member of Octopus, to help me and the rest of the candidates with the discovery day. This email included several links and packs of information to aid in researching Octopus Energy as well as the individual tasks on the day, these included: Group presentation task, solo call roleplay, solo interview, potential email task ( we didn't partake) and a group Q&A at the end. We were also put into scheduled calls with our worker in which we were (me and the other candidates) assisted with advise as well as answering any questions we had. During the whole process we were made to feel like they weren't picking one person but that they were hiring as many great people as they could. The actual discovery day was great fun, we were greeted at the office and given a tour by the lovely staff, we got to see alot of the building but at the same time there is so much more to see as it's massive. We got time to get a free coffee and go to the toilet, and then eventually started a fun icebreaker. This icebreaker was just a few random questions, for example : what's your go to karaoke song, ect. After this we did the group task, in our case this was finding a new product or partnership that Octopus Energy could make or work with. We all had our own ideas, as we had done research prior. This was a great way to see how we worked together but also what individual research and brilliance we had, and that's not even mentioning how amazing it is at connecting you with new people. After this we had a small break, before each doing either our roleplay calls or interviews. We then swapped after completing each segment. This was kind of like your standard interview section, answering questions and putting your best self forward and allowing the assesors to see what you're capable of. Following this we were brought back to the first floor, in which the staff we were with all day answered any questions we had. Everyone was very informative and friendly and you could tell they love what they do. To end the day we all went down the slide before signing out. I then received an email congratulating me and inviting me to a final interview. I had another call with the same worker that was assisting me through the process, this was to give any more tips and ease some nerves. I then completedy final interview in office, this was a good experience and it was a great way to help me understand the role and workplace better as well as help the hiring staff see who I was more clearly. I was them offered the role on the day but this may vary from person to person. But they offerede the role and sent an email with all the details I needed to submit. Overall the entire process was hard but fun, informative, exciting and also very well structured and aided. They want you to get the job here. I hope everyone else that applies has as great of a time that I did.
